"- After two weeks of crisscrossing we still have lots of new places to go"

The above statement was made by a German client after coming back from his two week kayaking experience. We are pleased to assist you on your trip. We can instruct you on how to handle the kayak in different situations. Our guides can show you and tell you about places you could not have reached alone. You are also free to go on your own provided you have the skills and experience to navigate and find your way.

To get to Ekenäs (Tammisaari)

E-mail Print PDF

A typical traveller to Finland would fly in through Helsinki, Tampere or Turku airports or take the ferry (Viking Line or Silja Line) from Stockholm in Sweden, another ferry from Rostock in Germany or Tallinn in Estonia. Travel by car is also possible combining several ferries. You could cross the Finnish border from Russia in the east or through Lapland from northern Norway or Sweden.

Historical review

Kayaks have been part of the archipelago for almost 100 years!

I (Jöns Aschan) started with kayak renting and guided tours as a trial summer 2004. I continue the operation with the name Paddlingsfabriken or "Paddlefactory". Paddles are core and factory since our equipment and services are combined to services for you and your personal experience. Tens of years of experience, archipelago and kayaking becomes our product. You should consider at least part of your Finland visit to be a tour in the Ekenäs archipelago toghether with us.

Grytskär - our preferred paddle basecamp

GrytskarBasecamp.jpgGrytskär (lat: 59.8501, long: 23.4097) as a basecamp is a new facility for us. We can offer sauna, meals and indoor accommodation on this remote island to you as a kayaker. It is a much appreciated destination where we organise paddling classes and recreational meetings in combination with a archipelago tour. We can accommodate 6 persons and have 10 seats around the dinner table.
