Local ice paddle in march 2007 A paddle tour a sunny day in March when the ice is about to be reduced. The location is between Gullö island and Ekenäs, going along the quiet fairway broken up for the transit of cargo ships to Skuru harbour.

Butterfly roll
Hold your greenland paddle to the right. Knuckles up. Fall into the water on the right and roll up on the left. Wait for the paddle to reach the water surface before you start opening your wings, ie. twisting the kayak by your hips, moving the paddle outwards and leaning back.

Balance brace
As an excersize its useful to learn how you can manouver your kayak by your hips and keep your face above the water or sink. A greenland style paddle with a little boyancy will help. You also need a good fit in the kayak.
